The Arab Youth Association in Europe Statement

H.E. The Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Britain, Mr. Abdul-Rahman Ghanem Al Mutaiwee….

The Arab Youth Association in Europe Would like to express its deep regret and concern regarding the decisions taken by Your government which are all contrary to entire global norms and conventions that preserve human right of expression and calling for reform as well as protect the right of citizenship and work and keeping all of these rights untouched or being threaten..

The withdrawal of citizenship and all forms of identity from six Emirati advocates of reform is being considered a very dangerous step that may tarnish the history and reputation of the UAE and would open the door to litigations by hundreds of thousands of expatriates living in the UAE from both the Arabs and non-Arabs.  In the light of these violations against the six reformists listed below :
Sheikh Muhammad Abdul-Raziq As-Siddiq
Dr. Ali Hussain Al Hammadi
Mr. Ahmed Ghaith Al-Suwaidi
Mr. Hussein Munif Al Jabri
Mr. Hassan Munif Al Jabri
Mr. Shahin Abdullah Al Hosni
The Arab Youth Association in Europe will undertake the following series of actions to expose these inhumane practices as follows:
  1. Advertising in Arab and foreign newspapers and publications to explain these violations in Britain, Europe and the U.S.
  2. Campaigning for collecting signatures and distributing leaflets in the vicinity of the UAE embassy in London and seeking permission from the British police to establish an outdoor advertising panel in front of the embassy to explain the dimensions of this issue by activists.
  3. Sending messages to all members of the House of Commons.
  4. Engaging all Arab and Western human rights organizations to reveal the dimensions of this issue to them.
  5. Calling on all Arab and non-Arab expatriates in the UAE to sue the UAE government to get their rights of citizenship according to the regulations of human rights guaranteed by all international conventions as well as discussing ways to entitle Western institutions to adopt this issue before European and international courts.
The above steps will be the first fruits of our work against these unfair decisions and the campaign began and will not stop unless the rights were returned, and the six reformists restore their jobs and passports and citizenship.
